Is a Roku Tektv app still in the cards?

$

Has the planned support for Roku been dropped? I can't find the list of upcoming supported devices on the Teksavvy websites that once included Roku. All I can find are comments in the forum from months ago saying Teksavvy had it under development. I wonder what the current status is.

How do I contact technical support?

I've been trying to get a hold of support for weeks now. Phone lines are too busy and whenever I email the support team they never reply. Instead, I get a response from the sales team with a generic repose like "reboot your modem and wait 2 minutes"... I need help. How do I get it? You took down the direct support on your website and now took away the support here. How do I get my issue resolved?????

Hi guys, Quick question, my modem is in bridge mode, is it possible to enable NAT so I can forward port 21 to my FTP server? I can see my web server in the internet, but port 21 is closed from portcheckers.com Thank you.

[Cable] New TS customers!

Been reading about Teksavvy here on the forums for years. Been mostly glowing reviews. Was a Shaw Calgary client for 15yrs, called in to get our costs down. Tried upselling. Five times. Did a swap, I wasn't home, my wife and a TS gal on the phone, swapped modems, and we're running. Easy Peasy. Great work, Teksavvy!

[Cable] Did Techsavvy send out emails to all its customers?

I get you had to raise the rates back up, but having some notice of when you were going to do this via email or a phone call would be nice instead receiving the account invoice with the new changes. :( I have no emails from Techsavvy other than my move info in Feb, March, April and May's service invoices. And please don't blame COVID-19 for your laziness. Thanks,

Ontario people who are on the Cogeco network, what are you all using? I just feel like doing a bit of information gathering on all the Cogeco approved modems for Teksavvy. https://help.teksavvy.com/hc/en-us/articles/200315180-Approved-Cable-Modems-Cogeco-Network-Ontario-

[Cable] IPv6 on Cogeco?

I'm toying with the idea of changing to cable, from DSL, and in my area the cableco is Cogeco. The big thing that's keeping me on DSL right now is that I want IPv6, and I don't know that ipv6 is available for TPIA. I have a really good reason to change - Cogeco just yanked all the copper out of my neighbourhood. I was talking with one of their technicians when they were connecting up fibre to everyone on the street. Apparently... if you want cable internet in the neighbourhood... it will be fibre. TPIA, or direct Cogeco customer, it's all fibre here now.

Botched installation and broken promises

I ordered service through Teksavvy in mid April, and they completely botched my installation! I was without internet access for 9 days! After I finally did have internet, I had to bargain for a compensation for all my services that they ended up reneging on! My opinion - if you're looking for a company that will waste your time, frustrate you, leave you stranded without service, and break their promises - hire Teksavvy!

[Cable] Cable modem status ?

I have a cable modem (Hitron CGN3) used with a TPIA provider, on a Rogers line. It was a rent-to-own, as far as I know it is fully paid. Wanted to make sure, that Rogers would not have any issue to activate it (locked to TPIA provider ?, not compatible, etc...), so I emailed Teksavvy P/N , MAC and S/N number to verify. They told me to just to place an order and we will find out at activation.......not much help ! Called Rogers CSR, no help there either, only provide help to Rogers customers, go back to Teksavvy. Any suggestion how to get finally some answers from somebody ?

Seriously, can't you guys put a script in place that actually works to reboot the -I am guessing- the Web Server? Of, failing that, can't you put something on cron to reboot the server hourly or something like that? This is beyond ridiculous. Tx.

[Cable] Modem (Hitron CGN3U) Dead/Bricked?

Note I've already reached out to tech support and received responses in a timely fashion. Internet went dead randomly earlier today...realized that the WIFI network was not visible. Went to look at the modem and just the power light was on. Did the usual power cycle thing a few times as per standard practice but the behaviour remained the same: after plugging in, only the power light is illuminated and the others remain off without any indication of flashing whatsoever. There is no indication that the device is doing "anything". There is no WIFI broadcast and I can't ping it through a hard-wired connection. While I await a technician visit to be scheduled, just wondering from those that know these Hitrons what's the probability I have a modem problem.

[Cable] cCable: Frequent disconnections while on zoom

Hi. My wife has been working from home for some time now connecting to her workplace (some vpn, I assume) and doing zoom or similar. She did not have any problem until a couple of days ago when she started having frequent disconnections to the point that frustrated she stopped doing them. Speedtest and ping times (to yahoo.com) seem normal. Any ideas on the source of the problem? Switching from wifi to ethernet cable did not seem to help. Actually, she just told me that this problem happens even when she is not on zoom but she gets disconnected from here work place.

Bell Digging FTTH, Is my Teksavvy DSL/Phone Safe?

$

I'm currently using Teksavvy with both DSL (15/1 - fastest I could get) and phone (old school POTS) and am very happy with my service, but Bell has begun digging up my subdivision to run fiber to the home. As I understand from reading the posts here, the CRTC doesn't have tariffs for TPIA providers on fiber so I've got to stay on copper to stick with TSI and I'd like to get a better understanding of what the rules are surrounding that. I imagine once they get further along they're going to be pushing hard to get people switched over so they can decommission the old infrastructure and I want to make sure I can hold out on my copper line until the CRTC gets things sorted out. A few specific questions: - When the installer comes to pull the fiber into the house, is there anything I need to say/do to make sure they don't mess with my existing wiring? - What are the rules with respect to Bell having to keep third party internet/phone services available on the old copper lines? I assume that I'll have to be very careful to avoid any changes as they would probably kill that grandfathering and it'd be impossible to get it back? - If Bell offers a stupid good promo, is it possible to keep my Teksavvy DSL/phone service and have the fiber added as a second line in parallel (so I can drop Bell at the end of the promo and maintain my grandfathering)?

[Cable] Teksavvy can't route to bakingstone.com?

Is it just me, or is teksavvy unable to route to www.bakingstone.com ? Works fine on Rogers LTE. It's a kitchen products (baking stone) company, nothing controversial.
