I just need to know if there is any known issues between TSI with Rogers TPIA? I have packet loss to IPs on the Rogers network intermittently 4-5 times a day, but other parts of the internet are fine. Anywhere from 1% to 20-25% and streaks lasting a few minutes with no connectivity at all to some IPs.

Edmonton to Edmonton routing - Goes through USA, causes latency
Local Location: Edmonton, AB
Type: TekSavvy Coax 150
Tracert to local (Edmonton) public Telus IP 206.75.251.46 shows that routing takes me through a journey
Edmonton > Vancouver > Seattle > Chicago > Telus
This causes some pretty terrible latency as a work-from-home user who needs VPN/RDP all the time.
The work-side connections I've tried are Telus & Bell, but over 100Mbps dedicated, so I don't think the issue is on their end.
Kind of a deal-breaker if I'm being honest. I realize the normal home-user won't care too much, but it's negatively impacting my daily work-flow quite a lot (e.g. VOIP phone quality)
I've called TekSavvy technical support verbally and they said nothing can be done about the routing/latency.
If nothing can be done to decrease the latency I'll be hard-pressed to choose another home-ISP by my employer as I work in I.T.

[Cable] Cable modem drops and reconnects multiple times per day
I have a Hitron CDA3-35 and in the last few days we've been noticing that the internet will often disconnect and reconnect throughout the day, sometimes as many as 4-5 times in a hour. I've tried everything I can with this modem including doing a factory reset every day, as well as resetting my router and even running a single machine directly on the line. Nothing is working and I need a consistent internet connection for my work and these constant drops are unacceptable.
We've tried to resolve this in the past (over the last few years) many times, including having replaced our modem 3 times, we've put the modem behind a UPS (thinking it might be power issues) and we've even had rogers come out for a site visit where the technician took a 10 minute look at the box outside and said they would have to get their infrastructure team to take a look. I am unsure if that ever actually happened as the problems persist to this day. At this point I'm even starting to consider changing providers at this time.
For more information, I've had a smokeping running here: http://www.dslreports.com/smokeping?target=5d01119e26231121a98afb29a405d1eb&r=805. On the Virginia ping reports, you can see a high median ping @ 13:45 when we last experienced a drop.
I'm aware of the Intel Chipset (Puma) issues these modems have, but as far as I'm aware that causes high pings and not full drops, which is what I'm seeing. I've tried browsing for the non-puma chipset modems but none on the list are available to buy anywhere.
Any suggestions anyone could have would be greatly appreciated before I start looking at other providers.

[Phone] Cannot make outgoing phone calls with Teksavvy Tektalk
Hi, I cannot make any outgoing calls to any number. Dialing any number gives me a busy signal.
I can receive any phone calls though. I have no problems with internet connection (I can browse, down/upload, etc.)
I've tried turning power off on modem for half a minute, and also the reset button but to no avail
Help is appreciated...I'd like to phone directly to Teksavvy to get a real person...but since I can't phone >.

Teksavvy Price Match for Cable
Hello,
I just got off a call with Teksavvy, and was told Teksavvy does not have any price matching.
So in essence, they have no promotions.
How can a cable company (vmedia), offer speeds of 120mb cable at 60ish$ whereas teksavvy for the same price, offers 100mb.
I thought the cable prices where sort of fixed all throughout, the province...

How are folks recording shows?
Any recommendations for middle of the road recording devices?

Gave Rogers 1 month notice last day in July
Used Teksavvy a long time ago, went to Rogers, now I am looking to come back. I called Rogers to cancel and gave them a month notice so my last day with them is the 25th of July. What are the steps I should take to switch to Tek? Should I have not canceled and let you guys do all the background work? Does it matter?

TSI bad western routing?

Tektalk and VPN question
I have Teksavvy Tektalk as my VOIP, starting this month (no problem for the past year), all my incoming calls are busy tones and outgoing calls will only last about 10 seconds. Teksavvy told me it is my ISP blocking VOIP, my ISP does not confirm this at all and I am suspecting that they did block Tektalk and wanted me to join their VOIP service instead. I read that if I have VPN service, my ISP will not be able to block Tektalk. Is that true? Thanks in advance.

Rogers tech delays normal?
I'm sure it's Covid that's affecting all sorts of issues and I do appreciate the folks out there working...but is there an issue with Rogers nowadays?
I'm on Teksavvy w/ cable internet from Rogers here in Toronto... been out of internet since Sunday so WFH has been interesting...as is kids' schooling. Eating up quite a bit of mobile data but what can I do.
Yesterday, for 1 minute, internet worked...then I made the mistake of rebooting the modem as I couldn't access the router for another device. :( Should have kept it alone...
I imagine it's something upstream, perhaps in the HQ, but they sending someone out for this coming Friday morning.
How are the delays for you guys, if any of you need tech support nowadays? Is there a 'faster' service for direct Rogers customers while Teksavvy and wholesalers(?) are put on the bottom of the queue?

5.1 Audio Support Removed from Firestick Teksavvy App
I purchased 2 Amazon Firesticks for Teksavvy App, with the intent of switching from Rogers to Teksavvy.
One is connected directly to the display's HDMI port, the other to an HDMI port on an AVR for second display.
The one connected to the display never had 5.1 Audio on any channel...only 2 channel audio. When I inquired, Teksavvy support claimed the Teksavvy app is not supported by the Firestick.
The Firestick connected to the AVR, did support 5.1 Audio on every channel it was available. THAT SUPPORT HAS NOW BEEN REMOVED !
The Teksavvy app IS supported by Amazon Firestick, as it is in their App library, and there is no indication that the Teksavvy app is not fully supported.
All other Firestick apps that I have checked, even those not officially by the Firestick, do have 5.1 Audio.
Teksavvy is selling a crippled app to Firestick users at the same price as a full featured version on other devices.
I do not know why Teksavvy refuses to support 5.1 Audio on the Firestick...are there royalties that Teksavvy refuses to pay, because it is obviously not a hardware or software issue.
Time to involve the CRTC

[Cable] No reply from Rogers in 2+ days - normal?
Hi,
I was told by a teksavvy tech support rep that Rogers has 24hrs before they get back to them about an issue - what happens if it's been 2 days or greater?
Can teksavvy do nothing more than throw their hands up in the air? :uhh:
Thanks.
