Copy right infringement

Hey guys so recently I been looking through my father’s email and came across I’m guessing a teksavvy noreply email saying something about hbo copy infringe. Pretty much saying how this “sender” tried asking for my father’s information but teksavvy I guess has to follow guidelines and wouldn’t provide them. Not sure how my IP address could be linked to illegal downloading since I don’t download anything I usually just usually watch stuff online and the smarttv is only used for the YouTube app. I’ve just simply googled “hbo copy infringe” to get and understanding and ran to global news interviewing isp including teksavvy, so wondering has anyone ever got this email before? Should I just ignore it? Btw this email was sent back in sept. just recently seen it. Never once have I ever got an email like this. Cheers!

Anyone have lag issues with Hitron CDA3-20?

I'm getting service set up in a month and bought the Hitron CDA3-20. I'm kicking myself because I've found reports of lag spikes with this modem due to its Puma chipset. Has anyone using this modem with Teksavvy experienced issues?

[DSL] Need help with a second hand SR505N that I got from Ebay

Hello, I realize that probably the techs at Teksavvy can't help me with this because I did not purchase the modem from them. I had bought a SmartRG 505N from an Ebay seller in Ontario. It already came with Teksavvy firmware installed, It was one of the earlier versions I assume, I forgot what version it was (I should have taken a screenshot of it, but did not), however I updated it to 2.5.0.11. I then followed the routing instructions for it from the TS website. I plug in my phone line and it's like it won't sync (DSL light keeps blinking). FWIW, I am currently borrowing a cousin's SR505N that they had previously used with Teksavvy as well. I don't have the same problem with sync issues with it as I do with the SR505N I bought off of Ebay. Just wondering if I am overlooking something or it is a dud? Thank you, Tom M

Something wrong with TekSavvy's DNS for rCable

I wasn't able to connect to the internet until I changed to Google's DNS Modem signals were perfect, router perfect, logs were fine, still got a public IP for my router... But no connection. Chrome told me it was a "DNS probe" error so I switched to a different DNS (Google) and everything is back to normal. Switched back to TekSavvys DNS and I can't connect to the internet again. Ever since I switched from bDSL to rCable I noticed Instagram and YouTube were loading slower than usual, especially Instagram. Things seem much better now with Google's DNS but I haven't tested it long enough to conclude anything.

Hey just wondering what I can do to get to the root of the problem, I get disconnected numerous times but I can literally reconnect again within seconds no problem. Not sure if it's my internet or my laptop, even though the tv stays connected my ipad sometimes also disconnects. It doesn't happen always like here and there.

[Cable] Calgary Outages?

Anyone having any issues in the Calgary area? I’ve been experiencing short losses of my cable connection over the past couple days. Rebooting the modem, or waiting 20min, seems to resolve the issue, but I’m staring to grow frustrated (posting this from my mobile phone). My connection for the past year has been pretty solid otherwise; Calgary POP has been great

Quick question

So been like 10ish days since I usually get my bill, I decided to call the bill department to see if the bill was sent and to their surprise I wasnt’t set up to receive bill through the mail even though I’ve been getting bill sent to me for over 6 months. Guy was real nice and friendly and told me that it was some sort of confusion and that I will receive the bill few days after my usually due date which is 3rd of every month and I wouldn’t have to worry about late charges. Funny thing is like not even a minute after call over the mail lady dropped off my bill! LOL How things just work, so to the point would I have to call someone or open a thread in the direct section to notify them or should I just disregard the duplicate bill I might get for the month of December. Merry Christmas

Studdering News from the net

So is their any way to tell why a news streaming service [RT] is buffering. For example: how could I discern if the buffering is because of either the server side load of the stream or the internet connection provider, such as teksavvy? Is the traffic of that service being shaped or throttled or on a bad link itself, or it's simply the load on the sending side? Thanks and merry christmas ge

twitch keeps buffering

Hi, I can't even watch twitch in 720p w/o constant buffering on a 10/1.5mbps internet connection. verified traffic on router to make sure that nothing else is using the WAN connection. Been ongoing for a few days at least but I can't tell beyond that since I'm an occasional twitch viewer.

[DSL] VDSL upload profile too low

I'm on the 25/10 VDSL plan (dry loop). I always got 25 and 10 on speedtest. After a strange DSL outage the tech came to the house, found nothing wrong. Said the problem was at the DSLAM. Something about some other tech maybe yanking something. Not sure what the reason was but he put me on a different line. Says it's the best he could find. Now I'm on a slower upload profile. He says the line can't handle anything better and reminded me about the "up to" clause. Line stats say 12224 is attainable. Is 8120 too conservative? Mode: VDSL2 Traffic Type: PTM Status: Up Link Power State: L0 Downstream Upstream Line Coding(Trellis): On On SNR Margin (dB): 30.2 11.4 Attenuation (dB): 9.2 0.0 Output Power (dBm): 14.2 -17.1 Attainable Rate (Kbps): 68123 12224 Rate (Kbps): 26943 8120 Thanks folks, Scott

I don’t understand why the online chat service is never available.. some times it’s open.. sometimes it’s not. Like do you not have enough staff to run the service? Every other provider has one that you can access all the time, yet you guys don’t.. not everyone likes to call in or some people have hearing issues and needs another way to contact you. It’s rediculous. Open your Chat!

Does anyone use these over here? Skynet (firewall), Diversion (ad blocker), DNScrypt (no idea what this does) I've changed my stock ASUS router's firmware over to the latest Merlin build and installed Diversion and Skynet. I am shocked how well my internet service is performing now. I can safely browse websites without being blasted with ads and they are actually loading up more quicker also! [Cable] What happens to Cable availability when neighbourhood gets fibre?

$

Hi, I'm currently on Rogers cable. In a few months my "deal" is up and I will need to renegotiate. One of my options is to go to Teksavvy (actually, back to Teksavvy, I've moved a few times and had to leave). However, Rogers just announced that my neighbourhood will soon be getting fibre. When that happens, do they remove the "old-fashioned" coax-cable availability, and will Teksavvy no longer be an option? Thanks.
