Afternoon Everyone, I'm currently looking for existing TSI customers with active cable connections and speeds of 75Mbps+ that would be willing to test the SmartRG SR808AC. SCable (Shaw Serviced Areas) SmartRG SR808AC (looking for 3 testers) RCable (Roger served areas) SmartRG SR808AC (looking for 1 testers) During the beta, we will provide a no-cost loaner modem which would need to be returned at the end of the beta. If you're interested in participating in the beta, please post in »TekSavvy Direct using the group "Modem Beta". Regards, Joseph

I signed up for the $45 promotion mid-August, now the price is at $30. I haven't even started my service and Teksavvy refuses to switch me to the new promotional price. Do I just cancel and sign up again? Seems ridiculous.

Teksavvy ROCKS - A sincere thank you! (Web hosting)

I just wanted to send a HUGE shout out to Teksavvy in general and Shawn C of webhosting in particular: Yesterday, CanadianISP was hit by a DDOS; Shawn got the database servers restarted for me and gave me detailed instructions on updating the web, DB and management tools. It was less than four minutes from the first response and less than ten minutes before the attack had been mitigated. Further, Shawn had emailed me *after he'd gotten home* to not only check up on services, but informed me of additional steps he'd taken on CanadianISPs' behalf. That is *stellar* service! Thank you, again, Shawn & Teksavvy! -Marc

[Cable] Procedure in switching from Teksavvy cable to Fido cable internet

A client of mine is going to be switching (sorry Teksavvy, but saving money, faster, and unlimited), and we were just curious if there is a specific procedure to do this? Do we have to call into Teksavvy to cancel? If we call up Fido, do they initiate the cancel? etcetc We have loved teksavvys service, and I hope they continue to fight the good fight.... :-(

DSL intermittent connection dropping

$

I've been having a problem with an intermittent slowness / drop for about 3 weeks now. I have a 10/1 dsl with the SR515 modem and up to 3 weeks ago things were working fine. Recently I started to get intermittent slowness that basically makes things unusable. I'll be surfing along and all of a sudden things get really slow, I run a speed test or just ping say TS dns servers and I get ping times of 4-5 seconds (yeah 4000 ms). While this is happening, my ppp0.1 interface will show disconnected, then connecting, then eventually connected (ipv4 and ipv6) and then things will start to work again. I've called support multiple times, the TSI answer is we can ping your modem and it's all good. Had a Bell guy come out and he said the line is all good to the house. Symptoms are the same with wireless and wired (macbook, Ubuntu and even a Win machine). I can always get a fast ping to the modem from inside the house. I've tried a newer SR516 modem, same issue in routed and bridged mode (with a linksys router). Also picked up a d-link 520 modem and same thing. I've even tried connecting directly to the port on the line connection outside the house and same thing. I can't keep a decent connection for very long. We live outside Ottawa (Dunrobin), never had any issue with Bell dsl and sagecom modem. Yeah, the copper is old, but if that was the case, then why would both TS and Bell tell me the line is "all good"? Haven't changed anything recently, not doing any home reno's, no cut cables. SW on both is at 2.6.1.6. Getting really frustrated as I'm fairly certain the issue is not inside my house, or any of my machines, but can't seem to get anyone to take notice. Any suggestions?

So, I got my first copyright infringement email. It happened minutes after I clicked on a link to download a movie file which was fake. And that is why I'm surprised. it downloaded a few KBs and stopped. So I cancelled it. THe email only asks Teksavvy to make sure I dont continue hosting this studio's property(which I never did, and never will) and that they block access to this content. The email from Teksavvy gives me some basic legal info and that this request came from the US. BUt I'm not sure why it was even sent to me. It says nothing TO me. It tells teksavvy that their customer is bad, and that they should make sure the customer behaves going forward. any ideas?

Hi can some one help me figure it out if its possible to get better ping on Dota 2 US West servers? I saw this thread from 2014:(https://www.dslreports.com/forum/r29753729-Dota-2-Routing-issue-with-teksavvy) and they seemed to be having the same problem. Is there a reason my IP address on my DSL service seems to change every day or two and is there anyway to prevent this from happening or is this just some tactic to get people to purchase a static IP address?

The service and speed used to be amazing, but after moving to our new place, the speed of connection become so slow that sometimes can not even open an website, once tested in the evening and shown only 1m for downloading. Called teksavvy and provided us another modem to try and did not change anything. So decide to cancel the service. personal/account information removed by a moderator

My internet isn't working in Ottawa and I call in and am told wait time over an hour? WTF? In what world is this acceptable? Might have to jump on one of the Fido offers at least I wont be disrespected while waiting on the phone. If you can't afford enough customer agents at least invest in a callback feature.

Can anyone share a list of possible System Log entries and their meanings? For instance I'm seeing stuff like, "Jul 20 hh:mm:ss daemon err syslog: CAH:Failed to find radio for 0/wl0/" every minute or so. WiFi is working fine. I have no idea what this error means or what I should do about it.

I always hear people complaining about Rogers Techs. I was down for over 24 hours when I spotted a Rogers van driving by my house and flagged him over. Told him I was with Teksavvy that runs off Rogers cable. He had it fixed in 10 minutes. A big thumbs to this tech!!!!
