[DSL] How much to move modem?
I have my modem upstairs connected to that small DSL outlet, looks like https://ibb.co/jcKBCJ. I connected my modem to the downstairs DSL outlet (same as the image) and the internet light just blinks, a sign its not working, so is there a fee to change the connection to the downstairs box?
I had previously tested the downstairs DSL outlet when I had a Bell phone line, now that I don't have a home phone anymore, I figured since I had the dryloop it should work?

[DSL] IPV6 and pfsense
Hi,
I've just set up a pfsense router and I was able to configure everything except ipv6. For those of you having a pfsense router, how have you configure it?
I've tried multiple things without success. Tried googling with no more luck.
Thanks

[DSL] transferring the account with 12 month offer, DSL 15 Lite
If someone with one of the current 12 month offers for new residential DSL customers in Ontario/Quebec moves before the end of the 12 months and transfers the account to the roommate remaining in the apartment, can this roommate still get the offer for the months remaining out of the 12 months? And what if this roommate was previously a Teksavvy residential customer?
Is this the correct process of transferring the account?
https://www.reddit.com/r/teksavvy/comments/6yajsr/how_can_i_transfer_my_teksavvy_account_to_a_new/
In the Teksavvy My Account portal, My Account -> Details -> Upgrade Services Package, there is the this package: DSL 15 Lite, 15Mbps 10Mbps, 200GB/Month, $40
Will there be the ability to change to this DSL 15 Lite service after the 12 months? Would there be a $25 speed change fee? Does the $40 include the dry loop fee?

[DSL] future plans for DSL 7?
Does anyone know or heard of anything about the possibility of DSL 7 being cancelled for existing customers who have it?
On DSL 7 I have seen close to 7 Mbps download so it seems the DSL 6 would be slower. Or is the DSL 6 being offered on the website the same service?
Also, the DSL 6 on the website only shows 200 GB monthly usage. Would DSL 7 customers always continue to have the option to change the monthly usage cap as needed e.g. 200 GB to 400 GB and vice versa? Are there going to be plans to cancel this option?

[DSL] Are we any closer?
I've been holding off Bell 1 Gbps because I hate them. Is Teksavvy closing in on access to the higher speeds in the next year or two?

[DSL] Sagemcom F@ST 2864 in bridge mode & moving from 15/10 to 25/10...
Hey all—digging up an old one here...
When I first got my 15/10 line years ago, I put it into a "basic" bridged mode so my Tomato box could act as the router. At the time, TSI sent me these instructions to make this happen...
1. Connect to the Sagemcom modem
2. Click Internet
- Remove any credentials
- Save this page
3. Click Wireless
- Disable the wireless
- Save this page
4 Click on Network
- Under DHCP Status select Disable
- Save this page
5. The modem will operate as a bridged modem now.
- To log back in you would need to hard code the IP address
It's worked great for years (outlasting multiple Tomato routers). There was also a more "proper" bridge mode you could put the Sagemcom into, as per these instructions...
https://www.dslreports.com/forum/r28203965-DSL-Sagemcom-F-ST-2864-bridge-mode-guide
But, if memory serves me right, "proper" bridged mode was only required to get full speed on the 50Mbps+ connections. But, I'm unsure about 25/10 connections? I seem to recall that 25/10 would be fine via the basic, getting full speeds without needing the "proper" bridge mode. But, as this was years ago now, I'm not 100% on that and just wondering if anyone could confirm either way?
The Sagemcom in this "basic" bridged mode has been working rock-solid for years, so don't want to change anything if I don't have to.
Thanks,
Kristin.

Bell Fibe TV with Teksavvy DSL?
I haven't seen any new topics on this when searching, but does anyone know if it is possible to have Bell Fibe TV and get Teksavvy DSL currently? I'm looking into switching from Bell internet to Teksavvy DSL but want to keep the Bell Fibe TV.

SCable 300
Probably a bit premature, but Shaw just released a new 300/20 plan and I was curious if TS had anything in the pipeline for this/a timeline for when this would be available. I'm coming off my Shaw 150 contract and want to switch, but if I could switch straight to a 300 plan that would be even better.
I guess worse case is switch now to the 150 plan and then upgrade to 300 once that's available. In that case, would the approved modems support both 150 and 300?

[Cable] Shaw-compatible cable modems?
hi all-
The Hitron & Technicolor modems are the only two on the official support list for Shaw Cable areas in AB. Are there any others that are anecdotally compatible that you're familiar with? Both these models are 5+ years old using the terrible PUMA6 network chipset with performance and security flaws galore.
Is it just DOCSIS-compatibility that's necessary, or something specific that the provider needs beside this?

[DSL] Lord i hate dealing with Bell techs
As a backup we decided to get dsl 6/800 in-case there a major equipment outage as their was with rogers last week.
Teksavvy had no issues setting this up but now we got bell telling techsavvy the line can only do half of that profile.
This is as they completely and totally ignores the fact that for over a year we had dsl high-speed 50 which was rock solid and fully speed..we only changed over to cable five months ago for the needed bandwidth which sadly wasn't available on dsl.
This is as ridiculous as the time bell told me i couldn't get my old speed on the dsl since i moved too far away.
I had moved 10 feet to the second floor apartment in the same building lol.

Anyone having issues pinging lo0-0-lns02-tor2.teksavvy.com?
lo0-0-lns02-tor2.teksavvy.com seems to be coming up with packet loss for me, IP address is 206.248.155.244. Was checking a pingplotter trace to google.ca and noticing the issue today. Can anyone else here confirm?
EDIT: Seems to have cleared up by 5:47 PM EDT. Did someone notice? :)

[DSL] Speedtouch 516 can do 15 mbps?
I'm talking with a friend who lives in Yarker who had Bell 15-meg service back in 2014 and switched to 25-meg with TS and I'm just asking for a reality-check regarding the 516 being able to do 15-meg. I thought that over 8 or 9 meg you are in to vdsl so what was he on (stinger or some lucent thing) that was giving him 15 meg back in 2014 with a 516? Once he switched to 25-meg he had to go with a different modem, but I can't believe the 516 was good for 15-meg. Yes or no?

Flaw in Teksavvy's notice-and-notice system?
I freely admit, I am a pirate, and definitely deserve some of the notices I get, however, three times now I've received a notice for "My Little Pony" titles that we wouldn't touch with a ten foot poll. While it's possibly the spying outfit who screwed up, it makes me wonder if it could be TSI's automated system?
I've double checked my end of things - definitely no my little pony on any of our systems, no errant devices in the logs, etc.
Has anyone else gotten plainly wrong notices?

[DSL] TP-LINK TD-W9970 xDSL modem latest firmware for Teksavvy
I noticed there are firmware updates (enhanced security and bug fixes) dated 2017-09-19 for the TP-LINK TD-W9970 modem available for other regions, like Europe or Australia. However for Canada there are no V2 firmware updates, and the V1 firmware is old from 2016. I’m guessing this is because of the Stinger issue. …But this means Canadians don’t get security and bug fix updates because of this?
Question is: has anyone tried the latest European firmware on their device to see if it works ok? One problem is you can’t go back to old firmware on the V2 because they don’t have any available for download for Canada (unless: can you backup the firmware?).
Or should this brand / models simply be avoided? Thanks.
