[DSL] IPv6
I recently signed up to Beta Test IPv6. I thought I'd be OK, because I have an IPv6 "capable" router, the Linksys EA6400. I set it to Automatic and changed the login to @hsiservice.net
I'm getting IPv6 addresses on my laptop, inside my LAN, matching the /56 addresses, so it's obviously working. I'm even getting IPv6 DNS server, however, when I access ipv6.google.com or check it via www.ipv6-test.com, it's showing I'm not using IPv6 on my outbound.
My troubleshooting says my router is not getting an IPv6 address, but my internal devices are.
Any ideas? I seem to have limited ability to make this work with this router. I may have to get a WRT / Tomato router to make this work, from the looks of it.

[TekTalk] TekTalk: No incoming audio on received calls
Until recently everything been fine but for the past week or so we've been loosing incoming audio call on calls we receive. Outgoing calls are 100%, but incoming calls are intermittent. ~50% ok, ~50% no incoming audio, and outgoing audio always works. I'm using a Linksys PAP2-NA.
Any ideas of what it might be or where I should be looking?

[DSL] Intermittent disconnect w/ modem light still green
About 2 months ago on 10/1 DSL I had been getting service drops every 1-2 hours for over a week. I called teksavvy and they told me to replace my modem so I did and the service was fine for a while after that but recently I've been noticing the same issue where service will drop for 5 minutes about 4-5 times over the course of an 8 hour period. Power cycling my modem + router doesn't solve this issue, the only thing that works is waiting for it to come back online. What's causing my internet to disconnect like this again?

[Cable] Cogeco Technician cut me off?
So here is my story, a year ago I was with Cogeco. I then switched to Start. For about 6 months I didnt have any internet server after that as we thought we might be moving. Long story short, I am not moving and we signed up for Tek Savvy. I purchased a Brand New DCM 476 with the 2.5 firmware.
Contacted Tek Savvy, got my account signed up, gave them Serial Number and MAC for my Modem, and was told a Cogeco Tech will come install my service Friday March 21st.
Okay, but I know my cable works as I currently have Cogeco TV service, and I used to have Cogeco Internet and then Start Communication.
So I just plugged in my modem anyways. A day later my internet starts to work, YAY! I dont have to wait until Friday!
This morning I see a note on my door saying that the Cogeco Tech was there and had to disable my internet as my modem was giving "feedback" to their system.
I contact Tek Savvy asking what this is about, and they say there isnt anything they can do until the install date and a Cogeco Tech does the install.
I contact Cogeco, they are confused with my account and say they are not sure why the Tech cut off my service, but again I'd have to wait until Friday March 21st.
My concern is, the modem is brand new, could it really be giving feedback into the system? Or did it look suspicious because of it being hooked up before the install date?
Thank you very much for your time.

General update: Webmail, Zap the cap, Pay Now and MAC modem update
Hello all,
We have a few updates for today.
Webmail - We are in the process of migrating to the new Webmail and should have it transferred over within the next couple of hours. The webmail URL - webmail.teksavvy.com - will be pointed to the new system and the old system will simply drop off as the DNS entries age out. Specifically, the contacts are the primary thing that we are migrating over to the new webmail and so if you go to the webmail interface and you find that its a new interface and that your contacts are not there yet, just wait a bit, they will all show up. And if somehow we run into problems, the old systems are completely untouched and we can just revert back if needed. The new system is improved in a number of ways, you can see from the beta post what's changed: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r29012552-Email-BETA-Webmail-update.
Zap the cap - That's what we are calling the opt-in feature I had mentioned here: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r28902002-BETA-my-account-portal-v2-need-your-help - The portal has been, or is in the process of being updated right now with this new beta feature. In this beta release, the functionality for the rate-limiting will be in place however the full system will not be implemented until next month. In this release you can turn the feature on and from the hours of 8pm to midnight the rate limit will be in place until you remove it. It takes 10-20 minutes to activate or deactivate. The system is linked to the speed of your package. In order for this to work across all platforms both DSL and cable we had to pick thresholds. Those are: 3, 6, 9, 12 and a max of 15mbit/s. So depending on your package, you will fall into one of those brackets. When we looked at all the different speeds across all vendors, it became obvious that we just had to pick speeds and apply them to the various packages otherwise it was just too complicated. This is currently implemented for rCable, cCable and DSL in Ontario and Quebec. Much work went into this and we're excited to kick this off.
Pay now - This option will allow you to pay your bill via the MyAccount portal. We get many calls for payments and we believe this will save time for everybody while making sure it is still very secure.
MAC modem update (for rCable, vCable and cCable internet users only) - This is a simple tool where you can submit your correct MAC address in case your usage does not show up properly. The MAC address is what links your account with our systems. It's how we know who you are. If you look on the back of your modem it says what your modem MAC address is. Those addresses are unique to your modem and are assigned by the modem manufacturer. The reason for this tool is because some users MAC addresses are incorrect in our records and we may need your help to correct them. This provides a simple way to fix it. This is important because we must ensure that there are no other users on our network that should not be and as well to make sure that your usage is correctly linked to your account. To ensure this, we will be slowing down those users where we know our records are incorrect in order to prompt a fix. This tool is for those situations. Once we receive a request, we will check to make sure the updated MAC is accurate and we will update our records. We may also need to update our vendors records also since there may be discrepancies there also. If you know your MAC address is not accurate, please be sure to correct it as soon as possible.
We will be sending out a customer notice to announce these updates later today or tomorrow.

[TekTalk] My TekTalk is broken
I have an unlocked Cisco/Linksys SPA-3102 that has been working fine for the last year. However today I found that I can't initiate outgoing calls. Incoming works fine, just no outgoing. My internet works fine, speed test reports good UL/DL speeds.
The tech that I spoke to indicated that he would escalate the ticket to the next level, but I suspect that since it is an unlocked device that I won't get much more assistance.
Any anyone experienced anything similar, before I replace it I will blank it out and reconfigure it from scratch.

Shaw Disconnected my Internet
I switched from Shaw to TSI in January.
Yesterday at around 11:00 am a Shaw tech came to my house and unscrewed the cable removing my ability to access the internet, telephone and other related media services.
At approximately 7:00 pm I contacted Teksavvy after spending 90 minutes trying to resolve the problem myself. I spent 30 minutes on the phone with them which resulted in a ticket being created which stated very genericly that "we must allow them the opportunity to review this information and can take 24hrs to 48hrs to respond."
This morning at 10:00 am (this is now 23 hours without internet) I had my wife take a look at the cable box out front. It was recently dicked with. You'll notice the obvious cable that's disconnected here: http://i.imgur.com/blEls4z.jpg
After plugging it back in, low and behold my internet worked.
What can I do to stop these douches from doing this again in the future? It sounds like this is a common issue. If they're doing it trying to get me to resubscribe to them, it's having the opposite effect. If I decide to leave TSI I won't be going back to Shaw because of this bullshit.
My only options that I see right now are to secure the green box to prevent unauthorized access, filing a suit in small claims for the time I spent diagnosing/trouble shooting the issue and any costs associated with it, or living with it and taking it in the ass whenever they decide to disconnect me.

Best off peak times for Teksavvy
Love Teksavvy, just trying to be nice to the network.
What are the peak traffic times on the network?
I generally try to shift most of my downloading activities to the 2-8 unlimited time frame with programs that work with the scheduled tasks function, but sometimes I need to download stuff while I am awake because the program requires a manual input to get the download starting and I can't be up at 2am all the time.
I'm assuming that mornings are ok but up untill what time does it get really busy when people start getting home and netflixing?
