Hi, I'm already a teksavvy DSL user, but I need to get a new modem because my old netopia modem/router doesn't have wifi. Will this modem work?

or recommend any other that is better at a good price, thanks.

[Cable] Can't broadcast my cable internet through my DSL router
Hi,
I want to use my DSL modem (TP-Link W8961) to broadcast my cable internet at home. I also talked to a technician at TekSavvy. Here's what I've done so far: I disabled DHCP and NAT, and set the ISP setting to dynamic IP. Not to mention, the cable modem is Hitron CDA-RES, and is connected to ethernet port number 1 of my DSL modem. However, I don't get any internet connection through Wifi. I don't know what to do next.
Sincerely,
Amin

[DSL] can't get what bell offers
Wondering why I can't get a 10mbit DSL line from TSI when I currently have 10/1 service from bell (used to be at a 12mbit profile but it caused some disconnects and lost packets). I keep getting told by customer support I can only get 3mbit and that they wont even sell me that because they dont want to offer sub-par service and get a bunch of unhappy phone calls. my line is great, i had bell guys here 5 times and they finally fixed everything. i always get my full speeds when i test and next to no disconnections. if you resell bell why can't you offer me what they can? You're missing out on profits... TAKE MY MONEY!!!

[DSL] Is dsl sometimes rather slow to reconect?
Been on dsl every since teksavvy switched me over from the appalling unstable cable in my area.
The smart 505 is a rock solid modem with a decent router with the most unfriendly firmware i every seen....teksavvy provides config files to get around this :)
One thing i have noticed is it can be slow to reconnect at times if there down time or off for whatever reason.
Anyone else notice this and is it firmware related or just a fact of dsl these days?
Otherwise its incredibly boring since it just works ;)

[TekTalk] Configuring Tektalk with Grandstream HT502 behind a Router
Hi everyone,
This is a follow-up to my previous thread https://www.dslreports.com/forum/r30896272-TekTalk-Configuring-Tektalk-with-Thomson-ST516-and-TP-Link-TL-WR941ND
I would like to connect my Grandstream HT502 directly to the LAN of my TP-Link TL-WR941ND router. Somehow, my Internet is much more stable with the router connected directly to the modem (otherwise, my Internet hangs every so often for a few seconds on my PC wire connected to the router), but I cannot get my VOIP line to connect.
What would be the correct settings for a setup as follows?
Thomson ST516 modem -> TP-Link TL-WR941ND -> Grandstream HT502
Thank you!

HH2000 vs Smart RG
Is there any reason I should get the SmartRG instead of the Home Hub 2000?
I'm speaking STRICTLY in terms of modem features since I'm using my own router. Any benefit of getting the SmartRG besides true bridge mode?

[DSL] When did the changes happen?
Hi,
I just looked at this months bill and saw that I am now on an unlimited package. Before I was on the 400gb package, when did this change? Why wasn't I consulted and given the option of the 200gb package or the unlimited?
Thanks,

[Cable] Remediate Provision modem Swap
after ISP used wrong MAC it is taking long time for a modem swap.
Apparently teksavvy is unable to contact vendor and have them re-mediate issue.
I am sure teksavvy has a channel to Vendor to provision modem swap

Question about POTS splitter and potential dry loop
Hi everyone,
I have a somewhat newb question regarding dry loop installation as I recently moved into a house where there was already a POTS splitter installed in the basement, which I guess meant they had a standard wet loop. Since I don't plan to have any residential phone service whatsoever, if I were to ask TekSavvy to implement a dry loop install, would I need to do any re-wiring within the house or anything in general? Or would Bell just need to do their thing on their end? Thanks in advance!

[Cable] Wan lease time around 1 hour, then lease expires and no internet
for the past couple of days, the wan lease time is only around hour (currently set at 42 min). after the time is up, the lease expires and i lose internet connectivity. if i reboot the RT-AC68U, i get around another hour of lease time and then the whole process repeats. also, last night i had the modem (DCM476) unpowered for 12 hours and the problem still persists. also, the wan ip address won't change even after 12 hours of the modem being powered off.

DSL Micro Filter vs POTS Splitter
It used to be that Bell would send 4-6 micro filters with their modem/router to their customer and now the trend seems to be having a tech come over to install a POTS splitter.
I find that micro filters are more simple for the end user to install and more flexible, but you are limited to use only around 5-6 filters per line.
Are there any advantages to using individual micro filters vs a POTS splitter ? The cost of a POTS splitter is more expensive than 5-6 micro filters.
