Rogers stoops to a new low

How many TSI customers have the willpower to say no to this? First they increase the rate TSI pays so that TSI must raise rates. New TSI rates go up January 1st. Yesterday (January 9th) I receive this. Coincidence? Rogers can determine what plan I'm on since they provision it. Anyone with Internet access can see what TSI charges and how much their cap is. Then they can engineer a plan just for me, at a price they know TekSavvy can't match. This doesn't look like a deal to me, this looks like desperation. No way am I leaving. First of all, with no long-term contract they can simply raise the rate, lower the cap or retroactively charge me for the installation or modem at any time. Secondly, that "free Wi-Fi modem" they're offering is a whole pile of do not want. My RT-N66U can demolish anything they offer, plus I can do whatever I like to it. I'm staying out of sheer spite for Rogers. Oh incidentally we are gradually cancelling all Rogers' services. My wife switched to Wind in late December. If there was a way to get IPTV without cancelling TekSavvy Internet, I'd be on that in a heartbeat. Ironically that's the thing that may force me away from TekSavvy, I can't keep paying Rogers $100/month for TV much longer. When Zazeen hits my area I might buckle. -- TekSavvy 35/3 cable - Technicolor DCM476 - Ubiquiti EdgeRouter Lite - Amer Networks SGD8 switch - ASUS RT-N66U (as AP)
