With the recent poster giveaway and their "card for pickup" fiasco I finally cultivated enough initiative to finally cancel Teksavvy instead of postponing it yet again.
After slightly under an hour on hold (which is a big improvement compared to the 1.5 - 2 hour hold times, congratulations gentlemen on this accomplishment) I spoke to a very polite gentleman who didn't even question why I was cancelling or make a big deal about it, which I sincerely appreciated.
Anyways I told him I would need him to push the Rogers cancellation ticket through right now because I was told I needed that ticket number to make the transition to my new provider. I told him you would likely need retentions or a supervisor to do that so he put me on hold for about 10 minutes to get one.
He came back and from the sound of his voice and the careful choosing of his words, he tried to at first give me the Teksavvy internal cancellation number and tried to word it as to not officially lie. It was apparent at this point he didn't get a supervisor at all. After questioning the number he gave me I said I would need the Rogers ticket number pertaining to the cancellation. He then said he would give me my "Rogers internal account number" and I wrote it down. I didn't want an argument so I thanked him and ended the call.
It's 12 digits long with no letters or dashes in it whatsoever. Is this sufficient to make a smooth transition to another cable provider? The company I am moving to wasn't sure, but said they would call me if they have any problems.
If someone has some knowledge pertaining to this, I'd appreciate some info or feedback. Thank you.
