Today I finally purchased a router capable of the feature Quality of Service. I have a family member that likes to watch iTalkTV which is a Chinese channel/VOD streaming service. After doing some research on it; I've found that the service relies on it's customers to upload while they watch much like P2P.
I was able to find that manually forcing the device to use 144 kbit upload max left the service unhindered. That leaves me with 100~kbit which is around 14KB/s. This isn't enough for a stable online gaming session + VOIP.
I'm not asking for a huge increase; maybe an additional 100 kbit. That would provide me with 25~ KB/s which should be enough to game while people watch their favourite shows.
