[Cable] General question about DOCSIS 3.0 & switching cable prof

Good evening, had a few general questions to ask for anyone who knows, thanks for any help. So I'm currently on the old Cable 28/1 unlimited plan for $70 with tax, but I am still using a DOCSIS 2 modem so I only get 15/1. I noticed today that Cable 25/2 is showing up for my postal code, I am on Greensboro POI. I want to switch to Cable 25/2 because it's a little cheaper, even for unlimited. #1. What is the best way to get a DOCSIS 3 modem? It will cost about $125 with tax and shipping from Teksavvy for the Thomson DCM 476, are there deals on any of the supported modems anywhere in Toronto or online? How long does it take for the modem to arrive? #2. If I order the modem from Teksavvy do they automatically add it to my account? Is my understanding correct that only modems which have their mac address added to Teksavvy user profiles, are the ones that can be used for the connection? #3. If I buy elsewhere do I need to inform Teksavvy? How long does it take for them to make the modem work? Trying to limit any disruption. #4. Will a Motorola SB5101N DOCSIS 2 still work on a 25/2 profile? Just as a backup in case of anything. #5. I have no way to monitor how much bandwidth I am using, but I am guessing close to 300GB or probably over, because I rely on internet for everything. Yet I see no reports on bandwidth usage from Teksavvy, I have heard they are not monitoring or enforcing should I go for the 25/1 300GB plan? I have been paying for unlimited for a number of years now, but have not been able to verify if I really need it. I can of course install custom firmware for my router if needed. #6. When will Teksavvy implement bandwidth monitoring tools? #7. The service update schedule shows that Greensboro will be updated Sept 9th, yet I see new plans for my Postal Code? Has there been an update already? Is anyone using the new planes, or 25/2 specifically? #8. How well does the online system work for switch profiles or ordering a new modem? Is it better to call? Thank you for any answers, suggestions or help.
